Honey, I’m Home!
New Yorkers know that form follows storage. The original design for this lobby, located very close to the High Line and art galleries, was an assemblage of poorly functioning spaces clad with unsuitable materials.
The design process analyzed the amount of storage needed and the space available. The study yielded a proposal that better utilized the spaces. The materials were updated to warm and durable finishes – such as porcelain tile floors, stained wood walls, and bronze metal corners.
The new marble reception desk, stair rails, and vintage lighting dress the lobby up and draw residents and guests very naturally through a clear circulation path to elevators and a lower level garden space.
