BKLYN

A complete renovation of a kitchen and bath transformed this  Brooklyn just-barely post-war apartment from being divided up into tiny dark spaces to light filled and socially inviting.

The clients love to cook and entertain, and the design concept was to unify the space with contrasts. On one side there is a 'solid' storage wall from which the counters were carved away; opposite we used a field of handmade glazed tile to "frame" counters and appliances, as well as showcase much-used and much-loved personal effects.
