The design process led to custom built in units to maximize the efficiency without sacrificing aesthetics or function. After all, who wants to live in a storage unit?
The master bedroom headboard conceals the odd columns and incorporates storage as well as ambient uplighting. The fabric panels are removable for the mercurial changing of pattern and color. New reading lights and charging stations finish off the element which defines the room but does not overwhelm it.
A similar strategy was used in the living spaces. A ‘bench’ extends from the kitchen to the terrace doors, housing a row of drawers below and a floating shelf and lighting valence above. The entertainment unit houses the tv, electronics, books and bar ware, all the while concealing ambient lighting and aforementioned poorly spaced columns.
Every elements here have more function than one.
